Paul Sweeting is Governor Assistant for Financial Sustainability and Risk Management at GOSI, the General Organization for Social Insurance, in Saudi Arabia. Prior to this he was Chief Risk Officer for the Hassana Investment Company, GOSI's asset manager, which manages $350bn in assets for GOSI.
Before this, Paul was a Professor of Actuarial Science at the University of Kent. He has also worked extensively in industry, including as Head of Strategy and a Managing Director at JP Morgan Asset Management, Head of Research at Legal and General Investment Management, and Research Director at Fidelity Investments International.
Paul has served two terms on the Council of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. He has also been on the Committee of the Staple Inn Actuarial Society (SIAS), and served as its chair. He helped to design the syllabus for the actuarial examination in Enterprise Risk Management ST9 (now SP9), and served as principal examiner for the subject. He also wrote the text book for this examination, Financial Enterprise Risk Management.
Paul is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment, of the Royal Statistical Society and of the Royal Society of Arts. He is also a Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary and a CFA Charterholder. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Bristol.
