About this speaker
Julia Lessing, FIAA, is an Australian actuary with nearly two decades of consulting experience. Julia has worked as a "big four" consultant, in corporate actuarial roles as well as in the wider fields of public health and human services. She has held actuarial educator roles with the Actuaries Institute and Macquarie University and is an experienced counsellor. She is the Principal actuary at boutique consulting firm Guardian Actuarial, which she founded in 2015.
In her consulting work, Julia helps senior leaders across the public and private sectors to use data to solve complex people-oriented problems, including workforce analysis and planning, prioritising and adequately funding services, optimising resource allocation and deciding how and where to invest today to improve outcomes for communities in the future.
Julia also delivers a suite of leadership and communication training designed specifically for actuaries wanting to build the skills needed to accelerate their career development. This includes a range of first to market, actuarial leadership development resources, including in-house training for actuarial teams, 1:1 mentoring programs for high potential actuarial talent and the market leading Guardian Actuarial Leadership Program.
